About Tarken

We started Tarken because the window actuator we wanted did not exist.

The original problem was simple: fresh air is great for sleep, but getting out of bed to close a cold window is not. Existing solutions meant replacing the window, drilling, adding wiring, or mounting a conspicuous chain actuator. We set out to create a cleaner way to automate a normal tilt-and-turn window.

That work took us through hundreds of concepts, prototypes, and tests. We refined the mechanics, electronics, firmware, mobile app, and installation method together, because they all have to work as one product on a real window.

Tarken now combines a motorized replacement handle with CO₂, temperature, and humidity monitoring. It can respond to indoor conditions, schedules, the Tarken app, or a Matter over Thread smart-home system—while keeping manual window operation available.

Tarken is developed and manufactured in Europe.

A product that replaces a safety-critical window handle has to earn trust through iteration. These are some of the prototypes, mechanical tests, electronics builds, and production steps behind Tarken.
