Yes. Tarken is designed for self-installation. You only need only screwdriver which is included in the package.

Yes. The window can still be operated manually. For normal operation, you can use the buttons on the Tarken device to:

• Close the window
• Open the window to tilt position
• Open the window to turn position. It is needed to release the hook from window frame to fully open the window

For local Bluetooth app control, no smart home hub is needed.

For Matter over Thread control, you need a compatible Matter controller and Thread border router.

Tarken can be set up and controlled through the app and through Matter, but some automatic modes may depend on which control method is active.

When using Matter, it is usually best to create automations in your smart home system.

Battery life depends on usage, window resistance, automation frequency, and temperature.

With normal use, Tarken is designed for long battery life, up to around one year between charges.

Tarken has a rechargeable battery and can be charged with a USB-C cable. It is possible to charge the device on the spot or you can unscrew and take unit for charging.

A solar panel can also help reduce or eliminate the need for manual charging, depending on light conditions and usage.

Tarken does not directly detect rain or wind unless this is added through your smart home system with separate sensors or weather data.

For example, Home Assistant users can create automations using weather, rain, wind, or outdoor temperature data.
